WHO WE ARE

Meet the Team

  • FIELD MANAGER

I have been working with children in schools, youths in organized groups, and women in various communities in Kenya. I also mobilize volunteers locally and internationally to take part in local projects that impart skills, and socio-cultural exchanges and empower the vulnerable.

As a father of 4 girls, with 3 of them already teenagers, I am keen on ensuring girls are empowered by staying at school during all school days hence promoting the sanitary towels program.

I am experienced in the coordination of activities around social projects, working with volunteers and relevant stakeholders in the implementation of targeted objectives. I also partner with schools, government, private companies, non-governmental organizations, and individuals locally and globally to help in achieving our goals.

  • FOUNDER

The Earth was always my home, my sanctuary. My mother, whom we lost early in my years was my guiding light. She taught me to give back, to speak up to get involved, to volunteer as I opened up spiritually.

My personal history around monthly cycles was always challenging. I wondered how this same challenge without education would be in impoverished communities. I learned that young girls stay home from school around their monthlies, losing valuable school time every month.

Finding safe washable light absorbent pads that could be sewn locally, was the key and we could supply the pads around education to give young girls choices in life.

We started in Akumal, Mexico with Kelly and then with Charles in Nairobi, Kenya.
It is so wonderful to experience an excited classroom of young girls at graduation when they receive their kits!

  • PRESIDENT

Pattie Hanmer was born in the UK but has lived in four other countries and traveled extensively. During her travels, she developed a passion for nature and a deep appreciation for the earth and its beauty. She believes it is essential to honor and respect Mother Earth's breathtaking magnificence and is saddened to see nature being harmed.

Along with her love of nature, Pattie is sensitive to young women's health issues, especially the challenges of menstruation and hygiene. She is passionate about bringing awareness and care to those who ask for help and inspiring others to do the same.

Pattie's passion for helping others led her to become involved in two non-profits that focus on these two areas. She strongly believes in educating and empowering young women, particularly those lacking access to education and resources.

Pattie's friendship with Sandra, whom she met over 40 years ago in New Zealand, has been a significant source of support for her. They share like-minded pursuits, and their friendship has endured over the years. Overall, Pattie is driven by her desire to make a positive difference in the world, and she uses her passion and expertise to do so.

  • CFO

After being absorbed for 24 years as a parent of two fantastic children and the owner of a business, my children both have become successful, self-directing adults. I suddenly had more time on my hands and a desire to try and have some impact on the larger world.

I have spent most of my life in the corporate banking and tax world helping people with taxes, life planning and money. I felt that after so many years of providing services to those who were protecting and maximizing their assets, focusing on those who didn’t have resources to access the knowledge necessary for improving their own lives would be a healthy transition. I started by teaching free classes to young adult groups and to local high schools about finance, money and taxes. When this opportunity arose, I felt like it was a nice tie in to helping in a more international spectrum.
